Ted Turner owns the screenplay rights to Jeff Shaara's "The Last Full Measure". The last of the trilogy, after "Gettysburg" & "Gods and Generals" Turner said it likely wouldn't get made.

There is a site somewhere on the net claiming that it is in development but the site is at least 10 years old! I lost hope it would be made a long time ago. Sad.

Thanks Bob. I assumed that was just a retailer and not the maker. A leather goods store didn’t seem likely to make hats in house. I got what I deserve for making the assumption.

Wonder if they are decent quality?

I’m not sure I’ll be taking that leap. This is their target audience:

I didn’t see any paunchy middle aged men in any of their advertising.

GQ did name their fedora as a must have accessory so you know it’s made for another market than the Fedora Lounge denizens.

Regardless of the target market it is still a nice looking hat. You can remove that little leather tag (and feather) if needed.

I agree that it looks good, but if it’s made for the fashion market I wonder about its quality. I also don’t see measurements so I’d be guessing on the crown height and shape. If I could get it at the right price I’d take a risk, but for its current price of over $200 I’ll take a pass.

I think you’re missing the upside: if the hat doesn’t have to actually fit on your head all those $20 vintage 6 7/8 hats are up for grabs! I’d give Max a run for his money.

I'll say this, it's a cool looking hat.

A simple hat for today, interesting in its look back to an older era. This is an early 20th century western hat of modest dimensions (depth 6 1/4", brim 3", 2 1/2" curled) and modest price that came to me in very fine condition. No idea what techniques were used in the The Fray sweatband, but each example I have owned has a good century of life left in it. This hat is a 6 7/8. I don't wear it very often, but with a little careful coaxing, I've found it comfortable for a week after a close haircut.
