Western, anyone?

[Just A Hat Rack]

First things first: @desertdog met a man in black at the crossroads at midnight and somehow he’s able to get his stock pot kettle curls to turn out perfectly.

That out of the way, after trimming 3/8” from the brim I started in on the kettle curl. It’s slow going but after 40ish minutes it was coming along. For me, this is much more wearable than the 4” western it began life as. More work on the curl forthcoming.

The hat looks good. The western style looks good on you as well. I know wearing something different than one is typically used to can cause some uncertainty. Shoot, I get that way sometimes if I wear a different color ballcap. Keep wearing it though. You're pulling off what I wish to with mine, wearing it with style.

Long shot I suspect. But looking to borrow/buy/rent a 3/8" or 1/2" shackle iron for a few days. Happy to buy or pay rent and postage both ways. Just did another pencil curl by hand and the wait time to buy/ to be delivered on a hat shackle iron is hard to comprehend. Thanks!

I'd say you did a fine job replicating that one! The low crown and wide brim looks really good.

Cut down a black 100% beaver hat the other day for a buddy and saved enough for a self band on one of my 5" hats. Pleased with the outcome. A little spot of silver really pops on a black hat.
