Thanks Mark, & I'm assuming the nap is counterclockwise as usual?Yes, to a certain degree.....and No to the hat sponge, use a stiff hat brush.

Depends on the hat, but generally yes. However to initially raise the nap you brush against the direction, then finish it out brushing it in the right direction with a softer brush. Thanks Mark, & I'm assuming the nap is counterclockwise as usual?

Yahoody, I enjoy your hats, but I think your horses steal the show!
Oh yea! My kind of hat! The peyote stitched band looks great. Do you know a model name? It looks like my Topeka and Montana. Nice dimensions.

That is nice. I have been looking at a Dobbs West at a local antique store, waiting for a price drop. Probably the same felt as early seventies Resistols. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.Just found Dobbs West.Tag said Top Rail, color silver belly 7 3/8.I think I have converted a Resistol Top Rail.Don't know if this one will stay western or fedora.Nice felt on this one not as thick or stiff as a Stagecoach.Crown is soft, brim not as stiff as some.Hats in great shape.
There have been some really good hat makers over the years on the SL Basin. Have to wonder who actually made this one for the Outpost. Anyone know the story behind Dobb's?Just found Dobbs West.Tag said Top Rail, color silver belly 7 3/8.I think I have converted a Resistol Top Rail.Don't know if this one will stay western or fedora.Nice felt on this one not as thick or stiff as a Stagecoach.Crown is soft, brim not as stiff as some.Hats in great shape.
During this time period Dobbs was owned by Resistol, the Dobbs West line was identical to Resistols of that era. There was a Dobbs Stagecoach collection and Roundup collection, same as Resistol. Just rebranded Resistols, capitalizing on the high end Dobbs name. Nice to have them as they seem to be fewer than Resistols. There have been some really good hat makers over the years on the SL Basin. Have to wonder who actually made this one for the Outpost. Good dogs, good horses, good woman, ain't nothing more a man can ask for...
I'll drink to that!Amen to that! Is there a "bad" whiskey? Only one I know of is "no whisky"
A lot fewer. Resistol was a known brand, Dobbs West not so much.During this time period Dobbs was owned by Resistol, the Dobbs West line was identical to Resistols of that era.
