Howdy howdy.
I just wanted to comment on the fact that it seems most brands pre - crease their hats now. Time was they all were open crown except for straws and cheaper hats.
I just ordered the only stetson I can find in a size 8. Of course it's a cattleman crease. I'm going to make a trip one day soon to get it done in my traditional tear drop front pinch.
My grandfather used to say straw hats were for farmers. I find them equally hot, but the felt wicks away sweat.
It'll be well over 100° here soon then cool off in October

Here's a project hat for you fellows, a great Resistol (model name withheld for purely selfish reasons) 3" wide brim that I reblocked, resized, flanged, and completely renovated for my nephew. The brim has not yet been shaped - I'll do that to order when he picks it up.

The felt on this hat is very close in quality to that of a dark chocolate Stetson Nutria that I own. My Nephew could never afford to buy a hat like this new. Me either, for that matter. I can't wait to present it to him.

Thanks! Not the sweat - it was rotten. I clipped the ID stuff and glued it under the new sweat though, to preserve the history. The liner, yes, but it's a standard "Resistol Western" liner - nothing fancy.

If you like it, I can send you the remaining section. It was a length of belt I bought online for this project, and split. Probably enough left for one more hat.
