Here's a rebuild that I did on a Resistol Stagecoach some time ago. I just haven't got around to posting it until now. I reblocked it to a 7 1/4 LO from its original size 7. I also lowered the crown to 6 inches and trimmed the brim to 3 1/2 inches. It now sports a Cattleman and a rolled Cowboy curled brim. The three cord hat band is one that I saved from another hat. No pictures of me wearing the hat yet. I've been under the weather of late and haven't been up to doing much of anything except for sitting around on the couch and watching reruns of Rawhide. But, I'm beginning to do much better!

Great job, Terry.
We all hope you continue to recover and feel better.

OK, this one just arrived yesterday, and I’m not QUITE sure how I feel about it yet. It’s another vintage Resistol, named “The Plains”, and I can only find evidence (so far) of it being in their lineup from 1963 to 1971. It’s a dark moss green, which was a gamble, but which I actually find quite attractive. And the Fort Worth crease is a long-time favorite of mine. The issue is that this is very much a smaller brim than almost any non-fedora I wear regularly. It seems VERY small on my head, although it seems less so seeing it in pictures, as opposed to in a mirror. My wife says I look like I’m wearing a kid’s hat, and I felt that way at first as well, but it’s starting to look less odd to me. I am hoping to hear others' input. I’ll keep it, for certain, the question now is how often I’ll actually wear it.

I like the color and the mule kick in the front. I get what you are saying in how it sits. I’ve had that happen to me on a couple hats.. usually westerns where the crown looks a bit shorter. I usually counter it with more of a brim down shape. Seems to help.

Thanks, Joe. Brim a LOT more down was one of the options I was considering.

OK, after looking in the mirror, and car windows, and shop windows, all day long, I finally decided it was NOT going to work for me as it was. And since I have SOME skills with brims, and none (or only very poor ones) with crowns, I took the simple expedient of turning into a sort of plus-sized, brim-down, Open Road. I like the result, a lot, and maybe it will take some of the edge off my yen for a new, black, OR.

Arrived yesterday. Unmarked save the R M Williams brand I presume an Akubra, and possibly from the 80's or later, when they went all in on the longhorn branding (not sure when they changed logos again). Model is the "Thoroughbred" which today is an altogether different hat. It had a two cord with really long tails which I did not like, so switched out for this horsehair. Measures 4 3/4" at pinch with a 3 5/8" brim. Color is a VERY light silvery tan (almost white). Need to brush up and tweak the crease.

Here's a 4X Stetson that I refurbished. I based this one on what I think might have been a Borsalino that I saw some time ago. I also posted this in the WHAYWT thread.
