I like the block, the dimensions & the center crease. They always work well together in my view.

I agree, HJ though it seems every hat I have of similar blocking and dimensions is ending up with a center crease and similar dents.

I like the look of this hat from Haven Bros. Hat Company. It has a 4 1/4 high crease with a 3 1/2 inch brim.

This one looks super sweet. I’m envious of how you wear it! I think I have a similar Resistol that although fits, often seems too big when I wear it. Great color and great beaded band on that one.

Thanks, gents. The brim did want to go back into that curl fro m the more Hollywood brim of the auction photos, but the off-center dip remains. Very friendly proportions on this one.

The low cool natural light brings out some of the light Sage & other blue undertones on my Churchill Dalworth "40" OR clone in Palomino.

In harsh bright light it looks like Silverbelly.

Thanks BB. The color in the pics taken on the truck seat is not accurate. The natural light was too cool & the gray interior of the truck threw off an accurate metering for exposure.

West Bound B Royal Deluxe Chocolate

It's a lot of hat. The felt is heavier than my Premier Stratoliner Royal Deluxe, but about the same smoothness and feel. It is not as smooth and soft as my New York LE but still very nice.

The brim is 3 ½ inches to the curl in front and back, and 3 inches on the sides. The crown came creased in a simple center dent at 4 inches high in front and back, and 5 inches on the sides.

I think the frayed 1 ½ inch ribbon along with the second skinny ribbon is a nice touch.

I think my first Western is a success, but I could probably pull it off better in Santa Fe, than in San Francisco. I’m going to put on my Lucchese’s and hit the dusty trail in Oakland in a few hours anyway.

Thanks DH. It is definitely thicker than the Stratoliner Premier, but I just hand shaped it back out to open crown and tried a dry teardrop. I think it would work fine with some steam. Got it from One 2.
