Nice looking crease! I like the cow kicks! You wear that one well.
Stetson 5X from the 60s-70s (?) It has the black size tag with gold print, 7-3/8 LONG OVAL.

Giving this thread the first peek at my latest conversion project. I got this 10X Thoroughbred in a trade. I'm converting it into a Costner'esque Longhair Open Range style Western with a Montana Pinch. I'll have more details later in the conversion corral after it's dried out and completed. It's still wet from where I reshaped the brim and creased the crown....

Looking good, Terry. You’re capturing the movie hat feel and making it your own.

You both wear them well. I wish I could get my wife into hats.

So do I. She likes the Optimo Milan and the MGL that Graham Thompson and Bowen gifted her, and she keeps them locked in her closet, but she's not in the habit of wearing them.

Thank you buddy. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with this one. The brim shape and crown crease came out the way I wanted, it's just that the hat for some reason doesn't particularly appeal to me. That's not to say it doesn't have that certain appeal to a certain somebody who would appreciate it more than I would. I do like the brim shape and crown crease, though. It's the color and the 3 1/2 inches of brim width for a Western that I don't care for, among a few other nit picky things I don't like that's common to all Western hat brands of this era.

Here's the Thoroughbred 10X Longhair conversion I was working on. I'm not going to post it in the Conversion Corral because I'm still undecided on what I actually want to do with it. As far as the conversion itself, it came out fine, but the hat for some reason just doesn't sit well with me. I detest the color, for one. But that doesn't mean it isn't the perfect hat for somebody else. It does sit on the head nice and comfortable, though. Anyway, here it is....

Beautiful hat and boots Greg! Enjoy the show.

Pimped out for the birthday blow out! Have a great early birthday!

Happy birthday!!
Always nice to see a perfect hat!!

Sounds like a great evening coming up!

Thanks, fellas for the kind words and likes. It was a great acoustic show, non-stop for 2 1/2 hrs. with both on stage the entire time. Great music and stories from a couple of my favorites.
