Western, anyone?

Can't convince my wife she would look good in something like this. (Minus the cigarettes...)

Yes, I really like these Chesterfield ads.....Lucky Strike put out some good ones too (not fine women but lots of hats).

PS I think there is a very similar Chesterfield ad I posted on this very thread...they are so cool.....

Montecristi Custom Hat Works Beaver 100.

I lowered the bumpers a bit and I’m thinking about lowering them even more.

You all have probably seen these hats before, but not with this new western shirt. I wanted a gig shirt that stood out but wasn’t too wild, so made a rare non hat splurge, and now I’m so intrigued with this embroidery thing that I may be keeping my eyes out more often for this stuff. I didn’t want to look too “classic cowboy... “ despite my slight western obsession, that’s still too weird for jazz... so I’m trying to pair this thing with different lids to see what might work.

Great shirt, Jeff. The black on black embroidery is cool as a fan and subtle. I've got a closet full of western shirts, mostly plain ones but I would sure wear that. Cowboy jazz. I like it.

Tone on tone embroidery always works & very subtle. Can look very Victorian too. I like the black.

Headed up to Sturgis on Sunday. Are you going to be out in the Black Hills anywhere?

I am guessing this is a mid 50's no.1, blocking tags are missing.......
This was sold/used by Blackberry Farms in California.....I snapped it up thinking an Illinois conection, but our park did not open until 1969......
It is a size 7:( but it is too cool to let go of. 3 3/4 crown as bashed, 4 inch bound brim.....makes me think of the spanish hats but this brim has an upward flange and is not flat.......really nice pliable felt.......not at all stiff.

Wild, I did not know they sold Stetsons at Knott's Berry Farm at some point. The Ghost Town part was erected in the 40's (according to Wikipedia). The quality of souvenir hats sure has declined!

(Ca. 1950's,also via Wiki)

If you ever feel like parting with it, it's my size :D

That is cool! I occasionally see hats from Knotts, but usually from the seventies. This is the nicest I have seen! Knotts Berry Farm had a store that sold Stetsons for many years. Also a Pendleton store. Walter Knott also rebuilt Calico Ghost Town, not far from my home. Mrs. Knott's Restaurant made delicious fried chicken. The park is a lot different than it used to be.

The fried chicken was still pretty good the last time I visited a few years ago!

Thanks! Oh man— I was in Spearfish all last week! Next week I’m up in Sisseton reservation, in the northeast of the state. Are you coming up for the rally?

Yes, been many times before but a long time good friend just got his Lymphoma death sentence from his doctor (12-14 months) & wants to go one last time. Four of us are going up Sunday. We'll do the rides, spend a lot of time at the Chip & at FTL, Gillette, & Rapid.

Just lost 2 good friends prematurely & 1 was unexpected in June. Now another!

Very sorry to hear that, damn. Sounds like you guys will live it up a little at least. If you’re into curries, check out Kathmandu Himalayan in Rapid. Best I think I’ve had.

We usually just go into Rapid to see next yr models introduced by HD. Haven't been to the new FTS since the fire so looking forward to that. But after 2-3 days I'm ready to leave...too many people!
