I dumped a bunch of pics a while back so I don't have any from when it came to me. The model I have is called the Derby because of the rounded crown, I guess. At the time I was looking to make a Planters hat (like below) so I sunk & telescoped the crown & flattened the brim. Sometime later I converted it to a Civil War guerrilla hat.
If you should decide you are not interested, I might be.

I have a Thoroughbred 10X Moleskin Finish. You won't find it to be soft & pliable but more like a typical Western. I'm not sure what Moleskin finish means except the hand is probably a bit more finer than a typical Western. Mine is natural beaver.I’ve been watching this one for months and there has always been something that holds me back. If I knew it was a soft pliable hat like a vintage Open Road I’d bite. The seller states it appears unworn. Anyone have experience with one of these?
I’m searching the Other Open Roads thread too. It’s more than I want to spend on a shot in the dark.
The smudge on the low right of the photos was caused by a flaw in the original photographer’s lens.
