Christmas party for the Old West Roundtable group tonight. I'll be wearing this Resistol Stagecoach with my "Billy" fringe suede coat I bought in 1969 after seeing "Easy Rider".

Great hat and jacket Jack! Other than being nine-years-old in 1969, I can't imagine fitting into anything I bought in my young adulthood. Props!

I've got a bit of a goof to undo.

I wanted to change my hatband on my Stetson Skyline, so I took the advice of the Boot Barn hat "specialist" who suggested I remove the original felt band and use hobby glue to affix the new band. After realizing the new band didn't look right, the specialist said to just steam the glue to remove the band. That removal part worked fine, but there is plenty of residual glue still on the hat. I've tried to peel it off, scrape it off with a sharp blade, sponge, etc... to no avail.

Have I really goofed things up or is there a way to remove glue from 6X beaver? I can try to find a thicker black felt band to cover it but I'd like to see if I can non-invasively remove the remnants of glue.

I once removed dried glue from a garage sale hat. It took hours of scraping with fingernails, followed by some 1500 grit wet or dry sand paper.
