I have had a black leather hat from Wilson's Leather in my closet for a few years. I don't wear it much, though, because I don't think the style looks good on me. I will probably list it in the classified section soon.

Looking to have a beaded hatband made up in a Native American geometric pattern for my O'Farrell & was wanting to use some green beads against the pecan hat color. The beads will be the smaller #11 bead for finer detail & the band will finish out at 13/16" wide.

Color sample #1 uses a pecan background to match the hat, a dark brown border with V's, & dark brown trim around light green diamonds.

Color Sample # 2 replaces the pecan background with a bone color. I have the option of using a darker green or staying with the lighter green in the diamonds. Border would remain dark brown.

Color Sample # 3 is to forego using green & stay with the original bone background, dark brown border, & pecan diamonds.

Jack #2 for me. While I like the Pecan, the contrast of the bone and the green is real sharp! And, as far as the conduit and all that, it's more than I would have put up, or at least tried better to hide it. However, we're over a mile from the highway, and six miles south of town, so the light is just enough to light the driveway in front of the cabin when coming home after dark.

Although, considering the hat color the bone might blend a bit...I reckon I'll change my answer to pecan. For whatever my opinion is worth.
#1 is shown with the dark green diamonds. If I decide to go with #1 I will go with the light green diamonds for a little more contrast. I don't like something that looks too busy but a little bit of contrast would help, I think.

Great minds think alike! Thanks guys. This is the final product. The only difference is the brown border & trim will be a darker brown than what this program is capable of showing. The band will be centered in front on the hat on the diamond.

Jack, those beads look fantastic! As for the dogs, there are two that roam about the place, but with Virgil (my son), and our cat Gandalf, as well as a move, the time was not right for a dog. Though I almost adopted one yesterday at the farmers market. Here in the next few months as things settle in I'll be looking for a dog. It's been too long since I've had one.

Hurricane Jack -- that is a great start! Can't wait to see it on the hat.

I should dig out my Grandfather's bead looms and learn to use them (now that my eyesight is bad and my hands shaky). He taught arts/crafts in Chicago as part of the WPA/CCC.
Bob, since you have his looms you should do that! As far as bad eyesight goes, that's why they invented cantilever magnifying glasses with light rings!
