That is a beautiful set! My parents have a similar set that my dad inherited many years ago. I think the veneer is damaged in places so I'm glad to know that repairs are possible!

Since I really have no time or energy to redo my bedroom right now, I am passing up waterfall furniture for CHEAP left and right at our local flea markets down here...thinking I may need to invest and store them for the future!

here is my set. My mom bought it at auction about 10 years ago for me, it was $150 for the set not including the trunk, there is a bed that is part of this but I use my cast iron bed with this set because I love it, and the trunk we got for $200 and it is cedar lined. It was all owned by the same woman and she never used it she and here children decided to sell it to make room in her attic.

We have my grandmother's set which was a late wedding gift to her from my grandfather (he purchased it after returning home from WWII). I love it and we are slowly resorting it so that it can be in our guest room. I am sure it isn't worth much but to have thier furnature is just plain nice.

PoohBang that trunk looks so much like mine I adore the one I have it is where all my sweaters live to protect them from moths.
Mrs. Chaddsely_Corbett you are right they do and living in the south I am very careful about ceder in all the closets and drawers so the trunk is amazing, and built beautifully.

I've always loved these sets. I had come across an entire set for 40 bucks at the local St. Vinnie's (minus the bed) I wish I would have had a place to go with it!

When I Moved my bed into my house (my grandparents bedroom set from 1956) I found out the boards supporting the mattress were actually the fronts of drawers off an old waterfall set.

PoohBang my trunk need the top refinished when it was in my room as a teen it was exposed to quite a large amount of sun light.
AtomicEraTom: That would have made me sad to see the drawer fronts used like that.

Picked this waterfall set up at an estate sale today. Paid $300 for everything. I'll get some better pictures up after I get everything moved, but this is what I took on the fly.

Has some damage to the veneer, mostly on the back and sides of the vanity and the nightstand Luckily the majority of the most ornate details are intact and in good condition. I'd appreciate if anyone has opinions as to a date range. Also if there are any tips on cleaning it up for the time being, and eventually if and how I should restore the veneer. Thanks!

I have my grandparents set. Still has the late 1945 sale sticker on the back from when my grandfather purchased it for my grandmother. It is in storage until we have a guest bedroom set up.
