My husband and I were in Target today to get a Halloween costume for our 5 year old daughter. Along with costumes they also had Christmas decorations, lights and stockings. :rage: I swear, it just seems to get earlier and earlier every year!! Damn commercialism... Sorry it just really bothers me...anyone else with me on this? One holiday at a time please! shakeshead *yucky*

Right in there with you. Two weeks ago I went in to Lowe's and they had a full layout for christmas, artificial trees, all decorations, inflatable santas, etc. It was so damned irritating I voiced my disgust to the manager for all the good it does, worst part was she agreed. She is about same age as me
(45) and remembers when christmas season DID NOT start until the Macy's thanksgiving day parade. Sad what commercialism has done to tradition.
I for one will not buy anything until the day after thanksgiving, way to stick it to the man huh:p Anyone think they'll notice. Maybe if enough of us did it.

The Leeds city decorations have been up for a couple weeks. Granted, it's not like they're up before Thanksgiving here, but you'd think they could at least wait until after Hallowe'en.

Talk about getting ahead of themselves!

Same thing is true in Dallas. BUT...they haven't received BIG (XXL) sizes in the vests they advertise online and they haven't received any argyle sweater vests. Perhaps they're skipping autumn and going right to the holiday season. :( [huh]

I will tell you, as a retail lifer, that Holiday Collections (clothing wise) are always on the floor by October, and the Spring Collections are on the floor before January 1st. It's the nature of the beast.
