Loungers, I have to leave the frozen North later this month to head to Vegas for business. I'll be there one whole week. Are there any Loungers out in Vegas that can give me a few suggestions to keep me busy at night? I don't drink, smoke or gamble so needless to say finding things to do in Vegas isn't going to be easy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't smoke, drink or gamble either but was "dragged" to Vegas last summer and had a fabulous time!! Definitely take in a show (we did the Follies Bergere; it was great and [relatively] inexpensive!) Walk a lot, there's so much to see. If you have time to rent a car and drive out to the Red Rock Canyon, it's well worth it. The other surprising "must-see" is the Liberace museum. It's actually well worth the time to visit.

Dress well and have a great time!

I would look for some of the vintage bars and casino's left.....take a tour.....plus the strip has so much to offer thats not drinking and gambling ......just a tour up the strip seeing the pirate shows the mini zoo's......hard rock casiono is pretty kickin with old memorabilia......plus there are some pretty kool museums tucked into casionos and around town

My wife and I are big fans of Vegas, and try to get there at least once each year. All the posts so far have been spot in IMHO.

Definitely go check out the strip - if nothing else, wander throguh places like The Venetian and check out the detail work on the ceiling, or head to any one of the casino shoppes. People watching is a killer sport in Vegas!

Do all that has been mentioned and check out the auto museum in The Imperial Palace. If you stay there it is free to see. The new areas in Ceasars Palace are interesting as well---especially the moving figures. Stop by the Bellagio in the evening to see the fountain show. Its free and you can people watch there as well. Bellagio also has an interesting buffet (The Buffet) with quite a selection of desserts and fares for all tastes. Come hungry and get your money's worth.

My grandmother lives in Vegas, if you are into vintage their are a handful of shops. Valentino's has a nice selection. They are kinda pricey but their stuff is REALLY nice and the shop is definately worth a visit. The Attic is pretty well known, but they charge a buck to get in. House of style is down the street from the attic. Their staff was rude to me and my grandmother and they really had zilch when it came to golden age stuff (in my opinion).

The people watching in Vegas is the best anywhere! Amazing entertainment!

I agree with all of the above, especially the people watching! The last time I was there - about three months ago - I stayed at the Wynn. Watching young (21-25 year old) Koreans and Arabs dropping $10 - $20K (yes, thousands) a hand at the Baccarat is not something I will likely forget soon. The image of someone sitting at a gabling table with a stack of chips equal to what I work hard to make in a couple of years and throwing it away...unbelievable!

If you love cars, there is a Ferrari museum in the Wynn that has some beautiful vintage Ferraris’. The shows are awesome too! Heard the one about a man eating lion? Just kidding!

Still being on East Coast time during my last trip, I went down for breakfast at 3:30 AM Vegas time one morning and was able to watch casino security try to convince a Paris Hilton look-alike (or maybe it was Paris???) to put her drink down and her clothes back on...There is definitely no place like Vegas.

Thawing in Vegas?

Thanks folks for the great ideas. I'm looking forward to seeing the old part of Vegas. I'd like to find and purchase any "Rat Pack" type of stuff for display in the store here in Minnasocold. Speaking of so cold, my son and I are heading up to the Boundry Waters tomorrow for a long weekend of dog sledding and winter camping. I'll be looking forward to thawing out in Vegas.
