This came in today. It's not a Brown's, but it's also not $500.

I think it's a bit short when buttoned, but I like it open.

It's a bit longer in the back.

the checkered pattern is the remnents of sleeves. i can't remember exactly what this was called, but i have seen the full version with full checkered sleeves. Nice find by ythe way

Thanks. I kind of had that feeling as to the possibility of sleeves. I'll have to check out the old catalog scans around here to see if i can find anything.

Keep checking back with amazon-Japan, Matt...they carry Mono but I don't see this issue listed yet.

Good call. I didn't find a Bean version, but this sure looks right. It's pretty easy to see how the sleeves would wear out well ahead of the vest.

Just called Kinokuniya in NYC and got the last copy...pretty pricey though at $62 + shipping. Better be a big ass catalog!
