Having spent a bit of time learning about bandanas and watching a lot of auctions, I've got a pretty good idea of what factors into their prices -

but Carhartt goods are an entirely different animal.

Vintage Brown's Beach vests and jackets --the older, the better-- are once again fetching high prices on the Japanese market.

Man, I've been looking for one for a bit now....would like an early one, but probably out of my price range.

Less than two years ago, you could have gotten a Brown's Beach vest on eBay for about $50. Three years ago, that same vest would have fetched over one hundred bucks. Now, it could go for over two hundred. Go figure.

Now, it's likely to go over $400, as you can get a licensed repro for that price.

Seriously great, Dinerman! To think that these jackets could be had for less than $200 a few years ago. Amazing...

I didn't even know about Brown Beach Jackets. You earn it, Dinerman. Years of researching and finding vintage workwear ....and a great Ebay auction with lots of pictures and infos. If only Ebay would be always like this.

"Brown's Beach" vests and jackets have been collectible (especially in the Japanese market) for the past two decades, but they've gone up and down in price. Clearly, they're on an upswing again. Dinerman is right: his is a rare color, and in excellent condition. Those factors help!
