You have all the best duds, Mose.
Where did you find this fine get-up?

:eusa_clap Hey Mose, I like that cord look you've got going there.. perfect for this time of year. I especially like that jacket. Jcrew had (or has?) one very similar to it called a sportcoat/hunting jacket that I've been wanting. Yours looks better and seems to have a bit of a boxier cut as opposed to the modern elongated form of the jcrew one.

Thanks gents, it's a Dutch "Beva" brand jacket and French "Hercules" trousers, just too slightly non-matching in colour an' wale width.
Here's a cool site from a French guy who takes his corduroy very, very serious... viewers discretion and all that:
http://grosvelours.ifrance.com/index.html#1

Gros velours means wide wale cord b.t.w.

@ Matt: You've probably heard about Hank Williams Sr. a.k.a. Gimly Ass. Around 120 lbs. he was so skinny his backpockets would overlap.

There's a woman posting in this thread. :p

That brings to mind this question: are their many women into this stuff today? Are there examples of original or repro female-intended work wear items? Any online place collecting photos of ladies at work? Obviously, the WW2-era had many women join the workforce, but what about before that from the turn of the century through the 30's?

I suppose it's not all that different, the female down-on-her-luck traveler, but still worth mentioning...

Nice exercise on the tight cord Mose!

Great find, that Beva jacket, looks like the gear the
municipal gardeners used to wear around here,
before they changed to the Fluorescent orange look.

BTW, once read this comment on Hank Sr's physique:
"He was so skinny, when he walked by his ass rattled
like a sack of carpenters tools"

Schuttersveld Manchester corduroy. It's like a Dutch denim/tweed.
We need to reclaim the Klettervesten from the old lesbians !!!;)
