Little pieces of wood pulp, pressed flat, along with some resin, bearing the likenesses of certain well respected men holding chunks of wood go for much more than that.

So what am I talking about? Baseball cards. If you think people spend a lot on a dinner vest, how about a baseball card bearing the photograph of a famous athlete? At least you can wear the dinner vest. Actually, I couldn't. It's ugly as sin.

I found this old denim laundry bag at an estate sale at the bottom of a box of rags. It was so dusty, I couldn't see the stenciling. Fifty cents later, it was mine.

I don't understand it either. Shelling out thousands of dollars for an A-2 jacket with great artwork and a great war story I can totally understand. This stuff, not so much.

Here's my guess (and it's only a guess): because guys wearing A-2 jackets shot at and bombed the Japanese during WWII -- and vice-versa, of course.

It's funny, I always wondered why the Japanese became really interested in WWII flight jackets for that exact reason.

i don't actually own any vintage corduroy Flo. i wish i did, but good stuff in interesting styles is quite rare, unless you want the more easy to find trashed French work trousers such as this:

I have one pair of very vintage cord trousers, but they're not workwear. They're American. benstephens has a very similar, but British, pair.

Vintage corduroy in good condition is very difficult to come by. Unless you want jodhpurs, which I see quite often.

To me cord was always a clichee 70s teacher look...together with a plaid sportsjacket. But some cool pictures could change that pessimistic view. Haha
