Kerry, in the tug of war pic the first two girls are wearing Keds. I'm sure you could find them anywhere. Plus, they are very inexpensive. I think I'm definitely going the route of saddle shoes. :)

I am with Decobelle on the 'practical shoe' point, and I actually prefer wedges to Keds or saddle shoes as well. :) I am so used to walking in at least a slight heel that walking in flat shoes isn't as comfortable for me anymore. I have worn my Remix shoes on a number of vacations in which I did a lot of walking, and I didn’t have any trouble with blisters and such (and I even wore them on a short jaunt through the desert as well, and though they aren't the best choice for hiking, I didn't have trouble keeping my footing.)

:: Wonders if since Miss. Dahlia liked my "hat pic" so much she might consider hiding me in her steamer trunk.....the last time i went on vacation my Daddy carried me back to the room from the beach worn out & tired from playing in the sun all day....Hohum......a girl with 6 kids should at least get one vacation in her life shouldn't she???? ::

::signed the barefoot & pregnant type:: lol lol lol

PD, I think it's gorgeous, but I can see some drawbacks to it for travel...

For daily wear in the sun, you would have to be very careful about sunblock if you burn at all. Since it's a halter, it could require specialty underpinnings, which could eat up "valuable" luggage space. And lastly, it looks like woven cotton to me. If it's 100% cotton it will probably wrinkle like a turkey. I like knits, some rayons and other blends, and seersucker for travel. They have fewer wrinkles, except the seersucker, but it's always like that!!

Sorry if that's discouraging. :(

It is cotton, Joie. But have you heard of Downy Wrinkle Releaser? That stuff's the best! When I bought a whole case of it they threw in a free travel size! :D

No, I haven't. What is this wonder? Since they have a travel size, I am guessing it is not a dryer sheet...
It takes wrinkles out of clothes even after packing??
Do tell...?

Yeah, I know Naturalizer has comfortable shoes but they're just not in my budget. :(

Don't give me that, you can spend $70 on a pair of shoes you'll wear every day on vacation and all summer if you can buy 7 different things on ebay that cost $10 each!! :p

BOSTON! LETS GO PATRIOTS!!!
Since you linked to this thread in another thread I thought I'd give it a little *bump*
So, how goes the plans? What are you bringing? Don't forget your passport:D

You must be so excited for this trip! I certainly would be. I have always wanted to visit Japan, so please when you get back tell us all about it.
I'm in the process of planning my October/November vacation. Having some trouble deciding where to go. We keep looking at all of these intresting places, like going to Budapest and then ending up in Morroco, then Casablanca. Sweden is also on the list. But, we keep going back to Italy. We really want to see something new though, but both of us are so in love with Rome, Florence and Venice it's so hard to plan on leaving the US and not going there.
I'd love some rest and relaxation, but that will happen in December when my whole family gets together to take my Mom someplace tropical for her birthday.
So please do let us know about Japan! You might have just added another option to make my trip planning even more difficult:D
