My father retired then as well.Well, my grandpa retired at 55. Dad's 53 now. He gets his pension in 2 years.

It is always more expensive here near The Largest Oudoor Insane Asylum. :doh:Don't know if I'm older than you or just in a cheaper part of the country, but I remember it at .55 cents a gallon when I was first old enough to notice. I believe it was still just shy of a dollar a gallon when I started driving.

The cheapest I remember gas was 59 cents. That was in 1998.
