Well, yeah, they still make them and you can pay a pretty penny for them online, but I used to be able to go to the store in town and get them easy.

The old T-3 headlights are being reproduced like crazy. They ain't cheap though:

Well, that is the part of the vintage thing that has disappeared.

Thinking about it, what I miss is having a service guy come out and do something when you call instead of when they have time. I called a guy to fix my timer and he didn't return my call until this morning! By that time I had gone on line, found the part I needed and went through a how to fix it yourself video. I told him forget it when he called.
I suppose the good part is that it only cost me the price of the timer for the dryer and not another $150 for him fixing it AND the price of the part---about $75. So :eusa_clap

Yeah, that was a genius there. I used a different setting and it still didn't work.
The part is winging its way to me right now.
I am surprised you didn't get the part and fix it yourself. It is easier than you think. You remove only about 6 screws in most applications and just twist out the old one and twist in a new one. Replace the electrical connections and you are set.

Yes, that is another vintage thing that has gone by the wayside. Before they gave you a definite time and they were there then.
I also love the level of service you get. It only took the small appliance repair guy two months to fix my mixer. The auto upholstery guy is still working on my car after months and the same goes for the furniture upholstery guy. These people have two speeds now---slow and stop.

Mine must be about ten years old. I was surprised they still had parts for it.
3 years old?! Geez, it should still be like new. Piece of junk. I once had a dryer from the 1970s that was still going after I replaced the heating element. Geez the color of that thing was awful!

Don't count on it. I had a hassle with the building inspector at a cottage I own. It is located 1 1/2 hour drive from my home. The inspector said to expect him "between 10 am and 4 pm". I stopped on the way for a sub sandwich in case I had to wait past lunch time and arrived at 10 past 10. He had already been and gone and left a note on the door.

So, I got to drive home and make another appointment. Same terms. This time I made sure to arrive at 10 minutes before 10. He got there at 2 in the afternoon.
