Vintage Steerhide Buco J-24

I spent some time away from home for the 4th of July weekend and ended up picking up another J-24! This one came from the original owner’s grandson. His grandfather bought the jacket new, wore it many years while riding, and passed it on to his son when the jacket no longer fit. His son was a trucker and wore the jacket all across the United States both in an 18 wheeler and on the back of a Harley. I thought that was a pretty neat story and I’m happy to continue the story of the jacket as time goes on.

Nice jacket, congrats. It's a steerhide J24L, probably late 50s. In terms of construction quality the earlier hh j24 has the edge.

Epic piece with a provenance!!

Can’t imagine why it would lead to uncivillity unless you somehow provoke people or become an instant expert and critic.
Wear that Buco and continue that story. That’s why we are here.

Very nice pick up. Love those buco's steer hide jackets. Mine is very supple and soft. Unlike some of my horsehides. The crown main zip looks like a replacement. It would be cool is in fact the crown is original to the jacket. Good cleaning and conditioning will bring it back to perfection. Please keep us posted!
