Before you give up on them...visit a shoe repair guy, who has the right equipment to stretch them and can tell you whether it can be done with these particular shoes and materials or not.

It depends on so many factors that getting real life help is probably best.

thank you. that's what i'd usually do - take them to a cobbler. i'm not ready to give up on them yet! if it isn't possible, i'd certainly love to pass them along to someone here though!

If you can find a cobbler, great go for it!!:D I just wouldn't try and do it myself (as in not take them to a specialist) as i have seen shoes that have had splits down the front, side and on the anklestrap because people with larger feet have decided to wear them, without any thought on taking them to a cobbler to see what could be done:(

Vintage suede shoes

I'm interested a few pairs of forties suede court shoes I've seen around the place, and I was just hoping to get some opinions on care and wear. Do they hold up well, or, if I decide to get some, should I just keep them for display? Do you use suede protector spray on yours, and if so, how did the material take it? And were they previously worn shoes or deadstock shoes?

I didn't find anything about this particular topic when I searched, so I hope no-one minds all the questions. I just want to get a bit of info before I think about thinking about buying. ;) I don't want to make any costly mistakes.

Thanks! :)
