^^^^^ We had the exact same DQ setup as that above. The last surviving building was demolished a couple of years ago. If that was in color you would notice the yellow "bug lights" under the awnings.

Now I want a dip cone...

Our local DQ - growing up in the '70s - looked just like that as well. In my memory, there was also a free-standing sign close to the curb, but the building looked just like that. I remember looking in those windows as a kid trying to see how all the magic happened.

We've got a walkup DQ here. It's on its second owner since it started in early days of DQ. The company always wanted them to build a new building but they are landlocked and it would have required relocating. It also makes enough money from March to October that the owner has no other job and goes to Florida in the winter. He is only 55. I can't blame him for his lack of interest in a year round committment.
