Hooters Was Incorporated as an April Fools Day Joke
Six Florida businessmen with absolutely no business experience, got together to build a restaurant that they could not get kicked out of. Hooters was incorporated on April 1st, 1983. Clearwater, Florida.

A highly overrated place, in my opinion...to much breast meat to suit my taste (and the wife's). [emoji19]

The first Hooters Girl...
Lynne Austin, was hired on a bet.
One of the original founders made a bet that he could get the winner
of a bikini contest to be the first Hooters girl.
Initially, she said no, but quit her telephone operator job when
her boss told her she could not get time off to participate in
another bikini contest.

My wife thinks it distasteful and sexist, and perhaps it is...but, no one is forced to work there, or frequent the establishment as a patron, and my philosophy is "to each his/her own."

However, she jokes about opening a beefcake restaurant for women, hiring scantily-clad men waiters wearing thongs, and call the place "Dickies"... she wonders how well that would go over in the male-dominated food establishment industry, lol.

Hollenbeck Park is city park in the Boyle Heights district of Los Angeles, California.
It is located on the corner of St. Louis &
Fourth Streets, near Boyle Avenue.

The park featured grassy knolls, picnic areas, playgrounds, a skateboard park,man-made lake, canoe rides and a gazebo.
Soda fountain drink cost 5¢.
Hollenbeck Bridge in Los Angeles, as referenced in the film ‘Chinatown.’
but poetic license was used as to the
location.
I was there in the 70s when this film
was being made. Was turned off by the
moody Polanski and did not appreciate
or stayed around the set.
Nowadays, I could kick myself since this
is one of my favorites.
Jack was very young and easy going .
