Vintage neon signs

My parents brought me here to get freshly baked cookies. You'd be able to buy their broken ones. Funny, but they tasted just as good as the unbroken ones.

Probably better!

Great looking no-frills place ⇧. There was an Entenmann's Factory Outlet near where I grew up and we'd go there to get the misshapen, broken, etc. cakes and cookies. They sold at a meaningful discount to the regular store price. As with all outlets, I think some stuff was sold there as a "concealed" way to have a sale, as some items were not really damaged.

This sign is now gone. I seriously thought about buying it and putting it in my mother-in-law's back yard (although the neighbors -- and my late MIL -- would probably not have approved). My daughter lives in the house now and would love it!

That one's got it!!

Or had it, I guess. I sincerely hope it found its way into someone else's yard at least.

Like the sign like the thought. Should have bought it. I believe the neighbors would approve if they were invited "Barbara's"

Outstanding sign, so iconic of the period. You can see Don Draper pulling in there on a business trip and, later that night, pulling something out of there as well.

Saw this bad boy yesterday in the Chelsea section of NYC. I snapped it for two reasons: (1) it's an insanely cool sign and (2) somebody else must think so as it's still here despite the related restaurant and bar being long gone (see the fancy Italian restaurant that is right under the sign and that doesn't "fit" with it at all).

Awesome sign ⇩

Note the neat sign branding at the bottom ⇩

And the unrelated restaurant right underneath ⇩

This sign was removed last year when the strip center was remodeled. This was near my neighborhood growing up and I spent a lot of time in the stores in the strip.

None of the stores (or sign) pull me in any longer.

This one has been gone for over 25 years. I used to bowl there on occasion.

The building is still there and I do drop by now and then.

I know this isn't neon, but didn't think we'd want a separate thread for it, so I tucked it in here as I love its vintage vibe. Being stupid, I snapped this shot in a hurry a few weeks back and have to admit, despite my internet search attempts, can't yet locate the hotel it is the sign for. I was in the Chelsea area in the 20s, but so far, no luck. For now, then, I'll just identify it as a cool old sign on some Chelsea hotel.
