Vintage neon signs

That makes sense and it's awesome.

"Hey, let's change our format to a lobster and steak restaurant."

"Well, we'll need a new sign."

"The rooster stays."

"But it doesn't make sense."

"The rooster stays."

"It will confused people."

"The rooster stays."

"It's not that much more expensive to get an entire new sign."

"What do you not understand about, 'The rooster stays'."

(sigh) "The roster stays."

FYI, you have now just experienced an argument with my father where, in this case, he was in favor of keeping the rooster.
That is EXACTLY the conversation that went down!

I'm on my phone, but when I zoom in, I see "ghost legs." Hardly an expert here, either!

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
I've done a lot of night photography so here goes:
The shutter in that photo was held open for at least a full second or two, perhaps more, with the camera set up on a tripod. Everything that is sitting still is sharp and well exposed (cars and wall). Anything that is moving is going to be partially exposed and fuzzy due to movement.
If the guy wasn't walking along the viewing axis of the camera he would be even dimmer and fuzzier. I took a shot once of a boat dock at night with an exposure of almost 40 seconds. A man in a white suit walked from left to right across the dock (across the whole image) and did not show up at all in the negative (and of course not at all in the final print).
Night photography is challenging but worth the effort as this picture shows.

Which one of these four words doesn't quite fit?

Staying with 1mach1's theme of neon and bulbs combined - how cool is this one? Also, picture how perfect it would be in B&W in a film noir movie over the shoulder and half way back of the bedraggled PI coming home at 2am after losing the bad guy and the dame:

That liquor sign kicks butt! I would assume that the bulbs move to show liquid movement? Would be cool to see.

No neon (good bulbs though), but still posted as it's a great example of putting a giant version of your name or what you sell on your sign (the nails are a nice touch). Also, "room phones -" considering we're in the era of air conditioning here, are room phones really a selling point or something to be expected without thought?

A few random fun ones:

Doesn't look vintage to me, but the giant baker with his breads, chef hat
and apron (love the big tie in the back) makes it a win:

Really good rocket ship

This guy didn't pay up for the good-rocket-ship design.
(I'll chance going to the moon in the one above ⇧
but I'm pretty suspicious of this ⇩ making it out of the atmosphere.)
