The only person I know named Bertha is my grandmother.

Or Margaret? My aunt.

How old are you Shangas? I grew up with several guys called Douglas, so kids born in the mid 1970s. It wasn't as common as Graham, Andrew, Nick or Nigel for my generation, but it was right up there! And all the girls were Sarah, Sally, Kylie or Catherine.

lol I know! She's so annoying but it's out of love. I watch the show almost every day on Antenna TV. My sis' tv gets that channel, at least.

There's author Gay Talese and it would definitely be a vintage name as he was born in 1932.

I've always been fond of double or two-part names, like Annie Mae or even Betty Jo - which you hardly ever hear around anymore. I guess it's mostly a Southern US thing anyway. (My mom is a Peggy Sue, by the way).

I also just got the best vintagy cookbook of "grandma's recipes". The names of some of the contributors are fabulous: Ruby, Bertha, Beulah, Lily, Lulu, Eleanor, and Maude for instance.
