I have Cosios Eyebrow book and it's a great resource for deciding what look to get, and how eyebrows evolved through fashion. But I want to sound off on the tattooing. I may be in the minority, but I know a woman who had this done and I didn't care for it on her. From a distance and front-on, it looked like penciled brows or even just natural brows. But from the side, and certain times when light from overhead hit her face, it looked like a purplish-brownish marker line drawn underneath baby fine hairs. She went to an expert tattooist and had it done in 2009. I suggest anyone considering this to take a look at a variety of real faces, not photographs, before you decide.

It's not purly a vintage shape it's a start, I been trying to find the courage for many years to have my brows shapped into a feminine look and last Saturday it finally happened.
there is still some work to be done in the future with the shap I think I not too sure what that will be yet.

My eyebrows are naturally shaped a bit like Audrey Hepburns which I love as I love a good strong eyebrow - they are pretty much horizontal and then going down to the corners of my eye (someone told me to pluck the ends off them - no way!!!!!!!) I don't have to pluck them really - I just fill them in with a MAC pencil and sometimes put that clear eyebrow gel in them to keep them sleek - great stuff!

My eyebrows are very sparse and fair and hard to see at all without make up, so I use an angled brow brush and pencil the rest in (quite a strong 40/50's shape). I had real trouble finding a brow brush, so I cut down an artists brush to shape myself.

Even if my house was on fire I think I would still stop to put on my eyebrows before evacuating!

I'm the same - they are the first thing to go on in the morning - in case I have to open the front door before I get a chance to put on the rest of my face. the moment they are "on" I feel I look so much better!

So would Lana Turner! This is from one of my TCM books:

"When Lana's apartment building caught fire, she had only minutes to grab a few of her most precious items. She took her lipstick, eyebrow pencil, and hair dryer."

Lana did have some great eyebrows, and it heartens me to know that they were completely false (she didn't have any after shaving them for her role in The Adventures of Marco Polo.)

Mine barely grew back after a chemical burn 4 years ago, so I wax whats left into a thin "guideline" for drawing mine on.
