2 vintage themes I have always wanted to do.

1. A tea party with ladies all dressed up with gloves, hats, drinking tea and eating little cucumber sandwiches while all of us wearing our vintage hostess fancy aprons. I collect them and could outfit them all.
2. I am so jealous of the vintage bridge parties ladies used to have. Everything matched with linens and specially made tally pads. I would love to recreate this but would need to learn bridge.

I do small fancy teas off and on if one on one friends come over. W/O the vintage clothing though. :(

i just bought a tablecloth/napkin set that had probably been purchased in a gift shop in hawaii in the 40's. it inspired me to think about planning a sort of WWII island theme cocktail party. or something. paper grass skirts...paper lei necklaces...cheesy music...frou-frou drinks...etc

i'd love to throw vintage themed parties, but my circle of friends is small...and the percentage of those who are into The Vintage like i am is apprx. 0%. [huh]

and i have nothing to wear myself. lol lol

there is a ladies' tea society in Portland that is very active. I have been a member since they started 8 years ago (now lapsed but do attend on occasion). they have monthly events, each themed to a different era or activity. I'll have to dig up some pics of a recent 50's tea I attended. and they are always looking for new members who would be willing to help plan or hostess an event.

This is the link to the national site. Ms Pamela Miller is the local chapter person and she is great.
