This very handsome Christy's Homburg arrived in the post today, but is just that little bit too small. It is a size 7 1/8 (UK), in very good condition, Imperial quality by Christy's, and retailed by G.S. Cowie, Aberdeen. The exterior is very good to excellent, with a nice deep grosgrain band and trim to the edge, and the interior good likewise; although the sweatband is a little creased, the gold blocking on the band is still largely present and it retains the Christy's label in the crown.
In terms of measurements, the brim width is 2 3/8" at the back, narrowing to 2" at the sides, and 2 1/4" at the front. Open (unbashed) crown height is about 5". Overall it seems a nicely proportioned, well looked-after hat - just a shame it doesn't fit.
