Vintage candy that is still on the shelves

A lot of these candies have had changes in ingredients over the years. I believe Three Musketeers was even three pieces originally: vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.

True. They used sugar and natural flavorings. Today's candy is loaded with corn syrup and man-made flavorings

A New Zealand favourite of mine - Pineapple Lumps (1935). Pineapple flavoured sort-of marshmallow coated in chocolate. Mmmmmmmmm.

Also the Whittakers K-Bar. Described as 'toffee', but really very chewy fruit flavoured 'stuff' (for lack of a better word for it!). They also did a milk flavoured version I was exceedingly fond of in the early 80s, but most people can't even remember it.

Another great British candy, was Callard and Bowsers' Rum and Raisin fudge. That had been around for many decades before they stopped making it.

What a fun thread thread. Regarding Black Jack Gum. It's quirky stuff. You have to let it sit and soak in your mouth before you chew it up, or else it crumbles into little pieces. Is this other peoples' experience?
Necco Wafers! Strange little items. Always liked them, tho. You got so many little wafers in one pack, it seemed like you were getting a lot of . . . something. The year I lived in Cambridge, Mass. I stumbled onthe New England Confectionary Company (NECCO)'s factory. I thought that was pretty cool.

Sch-Ka-Kola is a German candy dating to 1935. It still comes in a tin. It has a high caffeine level and a strong dark chocolate. It is one of my favorite candies.

Another one is the iconic Pez. Invented in Austria in 1927, Pez came to the US in 1952 (the Pez dispenser was invented in 1948). All Pez candy sold throughout the world is made in the original factory in Traun, Austria and the American factory in Orange, Connecticut.

Remember that pink gum(probably already covered here) that came with theme cards, Batman, Superman, Football(soccer) Man From U.N.C.L.E etc. One of the most popular was the series American Civil War. Not only did you get crds but also realistic paper money though I cant remember if it was Confederate or Union or both.
My first introduction to the American Civil War and Cavalry came at the same time as these gum cards and 'F' Troop appeared on British TV.

They are what is in the picture---sort of a flat chocolate chip.
My grandmother used to buy them for me.
Necco wafers? Those are rocks painted to look like candy. lol lol

Big Cherry looks a lot like the aforementioned Cherry Mash, which has been around since 1917.
