I thought I should stop clogging up the purchases thread with buttons and give them their own space.

Please, PLEASE dont let me be the only one who posts to this thread

I'm glad you didn't put this in the Powder Room. I don't think i have any vintage buttons on cards but I have an old jar of buttons that has been handed down to me and I've added to.
Some are from when my mother was young.

Sincerely,
The Wolf

Lady Day, your buttons are lovely! I wasn't sure if it has to be buttons alone, but just so you are not the only one posting here, here are some pretty 30's buttons on one of my dresses:

I like these because the buttons are plain enough to use on staples like shirts and cuffs, but the quality in which they are made is far better than today's.

Yay buttons!

I'd like you to know LD that when I first started sewing from Vintage patterns it never occurred to me to look for vintage buttons until you put a link at the end of a post to photos of your buttons. That led me to buttons (and buckles) on E-bay and need I go on? You KNOW what that has led to! At least it is usually cheaper to collect than alot of other things. I will take photos when I can find my camera (probably under my patterns, material, buttons, vintage purses etc!)

ooooh! Those are some awesome buttons, LD!!

I have several cute button/belt sets. Here's two that are still all in one piece on the cards.

In case you wondered -- yes, those yellow and black ones have SIG RUNES on them. This is the kind of perverted stuff that I love about vintage! lol I'd like some help with dating them. They are hollow and lightweight, so I presume they're celluloid. I got them from the US, not Europe. Many ancient occult symbols that are now considered fascist were widely popular in the 20s-30s.
