I've been listening to Gavin Bryars' Sinking of the Titanic again today and thought I'd recommend it.
It's a dreamy, contemporary classical music piece that gives the impression of the Titanic sinking, using only musical instruments.
There is also the sound of the Titanic band playing as the ship goes down. It's as if they are playing underwater.
As I say, it's very dreamy, ambient and melancholic, but also uplifting with the band playing Amazing Grace in the background. It's equally haunting and beautiful.
