That's really sharp! I have a Horween steerhide 30's Half Belt and what you indicated about smell seems also true with this jacket too. Very disticintive and noticable. Thanks for the review and details!

I heard Aero steerhide is 4oz while there HH is 3oz, how much weight is this jacket?

Not meaning to hijack this but here is an old Connelly steer jacket from the 1980s.
This one has a similar lining for the pockets as Terry's but is sheep lined. the surface finish is very grainy similar to other Connelly jackets I have seen rather than smooth. But then it is around 30 years old I would think, it just about fits me so use it mainly as a sizing jacket(42 I believe)

The Grain of the Connolly is very distinctive. Then there's its association as a quality product - if memry serves, this is the leather that for many years Rolls Royce have used for their upholstery. You can see how that little factoid helps sell the idea of a quality product when it gets out to the market. Last I heard, Aero were no longer able to get hold of it; is the jacket in the OP an old one? Back in the eighties, this was the original standard leather for the HWM, if memory serves.

I sold my Highwayman recently. I discussed a possible Connolly Steerhide connection. No one seemed to care. The new owner likes the Jacket, but I don't think the Connolly Connection made a difference.

I believe it was. The leather was very nice, distinctive.
