Mrs. Crumrine and I have always had family values we belive found most commonly prior to WWII, and now we have medicine to match. One of us got a minor dermatological infection for which our HMO doctor recommended an over-the-counter solution. The problem persisted, and ten days later a follow-up phone call elicited the statment "Well, continue (with the OTC medication) another ten days and then call me if it doesn't clear up and I'll perscribe something stronger". This, friends, is pre-WWII medicine: A solution can be provided, but you haven't suffered enough. Naturally, we did what any late 1930's provincial would do and repaired to the local equistrian stables where we purchased a topical horse medicine suitable for the purpose. Positive results were noticed almost immediately. This was not our first veterinary medicine purchase, as we've been using Therma-Flex (in gel form) for years. And the originally veterinary products Mane & Tail (a shampoo) and Udder Butter (an industrial strength hand creme) are well known to have reached commercially successful sales when marketed at increased prices to humans.
So here's the question: Have you ever used medicines provided for animals, and were you satisfied with the results?
