Army Helicopter Pilot, 1965—1969. Well, I was in training for a little over a year, then I was an Army Helicopter Pilot.
Life member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots' Association and a life Member of the Special Operations Association. Yep, I did those missions. Any of you special ops guys out there will know what I mean.
The day my Dad, Ray Pudsey joined the Royal Australian Air Force. Can you believe he was 18 and two months old? He'd joined the Army at 16, ended up on the anti-aircraft search lights during the Darwin bombings in early 1942. When the Army finally discovered his true age, he was kicked out, then joined the RAAF and served as an airplane mechanic stationed in Melbourne until his discharge in 1946.
Thanks to all for your valued service. Where would we be today without you?
