I am now offering this very rare, early ELC 1942 pattern Irvin jacket for sale.
It's a hard to come by jacket as it has the highly desirable Merino fleece with the tight, curly wool and the fleece is in superb condition (no stains, no smell, lovely depth of wool and great sheen). The cuffs shown no wear at all.
Out shell is tough and flexible with a rich dark russet, some loss of colour in places, which is characteristic of Merino (and consistent with its age - it's at least 15 years old), but sound as a bell and no holes. All zips working perfectly, belt and hanger chain/label intact.
It's a generous size 46" and the dimensions are:
Pit to pit 26"
Shoulders (straight across) 22.5"
Back 26"
Sleeves (measured around outer edge) 25"
More images of the jacket being worn (by a former owner, Rick Mayall, who has posted below) are available here http://www.vintageleatherjackets.org/threads/early-elc-raf-irvin-merino-fleece.15540/.
I am asking 650 GBP plus postage. Please PM me if interested.
