Beautiful early 40’s (I believe) Naval issue 10 button pea. I have two of these and prefer the other as the measurements are just a bit better and it has a slightly more exaggerated collar and lapel shape than this one.
I see zero moth tracks, all the seams are tight and the buttons are shanked. I doubled duty shanked the third from the top on the button (wearers)side. Clean and stenciled liner. Pocket bags are pristine. Wool shows some nice electric blue fades along edges. A super solid example of the greatest peacoat design ever made. I bought this, altered the sleeves and it’s been stored in a garment bag ever since. @Peacoat if I have erroneously dated the coat please correct me.
Measures:
21.5-22” pit to pit
19” shoulder
25” sleeve (please note I had 1” let out so there is faint evidence of the previous cuff fold!)
30.5” back length
I am 5’11” 207lbs pictured in the coat
PP FF $150 shipped conus.
I will also throw in a pair of wool, Korean War era 10 button cracker jacks if interested. Also in very good shape, waist size 33”.
