Possible, but not economically viable. It's a big job. If it's too long then leave it. There are plenty Good Wears out there in a 46. It's also John Chapman's size so test jackets are invariably tagged 46.

Wow, that is long!

I wouldn't think about shortening it. Sure, you could have a couple of inches taken off the length, and the waistband re-attached, but moving the pockets up higher would leave some visible vertical stitch marks from it's original placement (maybe even some horizontal stitch marks- depending on how much body length reduction you'd want). It's too much trouble.

I'm sorry, perhaps I'm missing the point, but the purchase price is 580€ before postage.
You'll pay perhaps another 200€ to get the sleeves relocated?
You run the risk of making the jacket unsellable if it doesn't work out.
A typical used Good Wear in a 46 would cost you around 600€.

Hi
I dont want to resell it but wear it.
Its a pitty having this "long " jacket sitting there for so long..The guy tries hard to sell it since almost 6 months.
I Paid 620 UK Pounds shipped for my Dubow, so approx 800 Euro.
Thx for your imput.
Cheers

Just about no jacket maker is willing to alter the shoulder area of a jacket. Because it takes about the same amount of time to make a new jacket.

Yeah, the work involved would be extensive. Removing sleeves, epaulettes and collar as well as all the areas of lining attached at those points. Just leave this one for some lucky tall guy and watch the Good Wear sales page and the classifieds here and on VLJ. 46 is probably the most common size of sample and 2nd hand Good Wear's.
