For some reason I really want to see this gadget. Guess I'll have to wait until it's patented.

Great job. Now how good do the vent hole work on a hot day?

NICE work!:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

I really like the vents that Art put in my VS Natural ArtLite.
With the liner out, it makes it almost a year-round wearer, only the really rough August of GA make it not....

I think you can make out the vent in this shot...star pattern above the bow...I can but I know it's there....

EXCELLENT job on re-creating a very cool vent hole tool!! Not only does it look great, but you've created the possibility for many people to get features on modern hats that they can not find on vintage. The only vintage vented soft hat that I've ever had in my hands is a Playboy air-light and its just wonderful. I really hope you do wind up selling these. Count me down to buy one!

You did a FANTASTIC job both on making the device and using it. I'm keen to see this venting thang myself.
Oh and congrats on the vent hole diamond design itself. I like it very much. It's not easy to do a pattern that looks so cool.

Do you know what ID program your Brother-in-Law used? I just so happen to be in engineering (as a student.) No matter the program, if an industrial engineer uses it chances are I should as well.

I really like the diamond pattern vent holes Ale, you did a great job. Here is a shot of the star pattern Art did on my silvermist VS featherweight.

I can feel a bit of a breeze at times. This hat is definitely cooler than my others, but it is difficult to determine how much of the difference is due to the vents, the light weight of the felt, or the light color.

I have a Mora derby posted in the derbies thread with that crescent style pattern. Here is a pic.

Ale; You are a brave soul sir. The result turned out grand. Best, Eric -

Thanks, Eric. Here's the photo, the same as buler's. This one looks quite easy to replicate. I've been wondering if I could use my tool on straw hats... I have to get me a cheap, fairly tight weave to experiment...
