My first leather jacket! I’ve been going through this forum for the past couple months and Vanson seemed to be highly recommended. I think I got a pretty good fit. This is a 42 PLU-3 from TB. My chest is 41 3/4 and my waist is a 34. I doubt I could’ve sized down to a 40 because this one was pretty restrictive when I first put it on. It has broken in quite a bit since then.

I liked it so much that I bought the slim fit Oxford in Bainbridge that TB just put on their website in a 42. Are the Oxford and Comet similar in fit?
Looks like a good fit.
I'm pretty much the same measurements to you so it's nice to have an idea on how a 42 looks. Do you think a 44 would be too big? Also, how tall are you?

Looks fantastic, first time I see a comet that fits so long, I like it.
I'd say the Oxford is much longer than the Comet by default and it has shoulder gussets (that work wondefully!). But TB can adjust the length.

I think a 44 would definitely be too big for me. I’m 6’1.

This is the Thurston model, so it’s 3” longer, I believe.

There seems to be an issue with the newsletter sign-up on the Vanson website. Can anyone confirm if Vanson have released a Black Friday Promotional code? I see Schott just announced a 15% off promotion.

Received the custom Stadium (-2“ sleeve length) and the stocksize Thunderbird. I plan lengthy reviews with better pictures when I find the time. For now all I can offer is a few snapshots from first hurried try-on as I was about to travel when the package arrived.

Love the short boxy fit of the Stadium, very underrated style imo.

I am also happy with how the Thunderbird fits. Sleeves appear shorter than on other styles, which plays in my favor. Jacket is stiff as a board, they evidently picked more robust hides than for the Stadium. Will be hard work to break in. The nickel hardwear is hard to operate, never had that issue with their more common brass zippers. Might need recommendations on how to fix that if it does not settle in with use.

I like both, but I LIKE the T-Bird. Couldn´t fit you better!

As to the Stadium Jacket: everybody seems to be wearing Bombers at the moment. Yours is certainly not the worst choice. Love how it both looks bold and aggresive while maintaing a certain degree of civilian and reduced appeal. A daily wearer and ideal travel-companion for sure.

I like both of the jackets,prefer the brass zipper, nice to see they don't have the horrible black plastic box and male insert.

The Stadium is awesome. I really like jackets with this bomber style and now I’m thinking I want to pick one up. I’m really digging the thicker, heavier hide that Vanson uses for these.

How’s the fit on it? True to size or a bit bigger?

Size 40 has 24“ pit to pit, size 38 23“ pit to pit, which by all comparison is huge. However these jackets are heavily tapered at the waist. I am 39“ chest, I wear a 38 in this picture. I also own a size 36 and while it still fits, the bomber-ish appeal and look of the jacket gets lost when you size down. I recommend buying true to size despite the ptp appearing huge on paper. Unless you are 6‘2“ or taller, you may want to consider shortening the sleeves. I am 5‘10“ and regular sleeve length looks weird on me. Leather covers arms entirely, the wool cuff is popped in and entirely redundant.

Agreed. True Bomber cuts have ‚weird‘ measurements. While I pick my normal P2P in a G1 or A2, for a bomber I need at least 1-1,5´´ more in the chest.

I had one of these jackets and loved it. Only issue is that it was too short. With the knit hem, it kept riding up when I sat down and would sit near my belly button. If it had two extra inches in length it would probably be my favorite jacket. This was an older model in a size 44 and these were the measurements:

Chest = 23"
Back Length = 24"
Waist = 19"
