Vanson jacket appreciation

It seems there was a hot streak on TFL for the Vanson C2 in the recent past, you get a C2, I get a C2…everyone gets a C2. It cannot be overstated how well this model fits, at least for me. For reference mine is a size 50 built in 2011 of CW with no alterations. It’s just easy to put on and wear without a care in the world, but when the zombies do arrive this will be my armor.

Just secured a Vanson Raid in 42 thru' the Lounge.

En route from NZ to Australia as I wait.

My other Vansons are 44", a Comet and a Sturgis, so we will see.

I had a Vanson Ike but sold it to a contact as it was a "winter" jacket only here.

All the info I could find suggested the Vanson Raid is (or was) "cut big".

Photos for this thread to follow.

Anyone ever seen a "Remington" in the wild?
Seems like such a cool and stylish design with a lot of nice details, especially for Vanson who tend to be quite conservative with their designs.
Found a 36 for a good price, but the 49cm shoulder width completely kills it for me.

Wow, that's a really neat design. Can't say I've seen that one before. Great find!

Pretty darn cool though!
Pity the shoulder’s killed it for you cause it’s a pretty darn cool Vanson!

That’s really cool! I seem to remember seeing it in their catalog circa 2000. I wish I hadn’t thrown that catalog away when we moved.

Vanson Raid has arrived from New Zealand to Australia.

Will be hung out in the sun for 24 hours , I do that with all older jackets.

Zippers all treated with zipper lube (for tents and the like) and cleaned with Inox lanolin spray.

They run as smooth as new after that.

It is "neat" on me being a 42" BUT there are plans afoot haha...

It does zip and close no worries but it's deffo T shirt only at the mo'

I will leather treat it next, again I always do that with newly arrived "older jackets, both Australian products.

A bit of manual labour , good both for the soul and the "trimming down" plan...

Hanging in the Australian sun again for a few hours today, with a final towelling buff-up in the cool of morning.
