The website actually doesn’t say that the 42-size Highwayman weigh over 12 pounds. I believe it conveys that it takes 12 pounds of material to make each 42-size Highwayman. That isn’t necessarily the same as the jacket itself weighing 12 pounds, much less “over 12 pounds.”

Really! I guess there is over 3 lbs wasted. If anyone has one they know it weighs well over 10lbs.

Before you comment you should read all of the posts to bring yourself up to speed. There was no odor! Perfume! or anything! Again this is an example of someone trying to abuse PayPals claim policy because they didn’t like the jacket or fit. I would feel him claiming that the weight is at 8.4lbs would be enough to show someone’s being shifty. A vanson At 8.4lbs really! If a jackets smell was so unbearable would it take you a whole day to notice? The funny thing is I told him I would take it back. Then I see all this weight, odor, measurement nonsense. If he hadn’t posted all of this made up nonsense I would have taken it back! Now this jackets reputation is ruined! Like anybody would buy it now! He should do like all and resell it! Not pull this pathetic crap! I have a 100% eBay rating, with hundreds of transactions. It doesn’t happen by accident. I just cannot believe I am having to defend myself! Someone commenting on my post regarding vanson saying it takes 12 lbs to make a size 42 highwayman, then being called out that it doesn’t say it weighs 12lbs. Really! I might be “new in town” but I didn’t just get off the bus!
If he’s telling the truth where are his reply’s? He has miraculously gone silent!

The sleeves are way too short for the buyer. He should have first contacted you and asked for a return before listing it up for sale. As far as I understand the buyer is young, emotional and unexperienced. @Greg Schrader you should be wise, understanding and gentle, take it back if it is still as you sell him; odorless and intact.

I hear what you are saying. Nonetheless I was willing to take it back, but now I do not feel confident of receiving it back intact. If I get it back cologned up I have no recourse. If it did cologne it up then we’ll hes stuck with it, but if he didn’t he can surely resell it easily. The funny thing is I told him sure about the return and then he started to post all of this cologne nonsense! I just don’t understand. I think there might be a little issue with English as not being his first language. No matter I wish him no ill. We all have done things that we are not so proud of. I emailed him and suggested he just remove his claim from PayPal, he could sell it, if he did not cologne it up, no hard feelings, and we can all move on!

I just got off the phone with Vanson leathers and spoke with Kim van der Sleesen, one of the owners of vanson! The shoulder width is 18” for a size 40!
Not a 17.5” it also seems when I told her I was having an issue on the fedora lounge she knew who I was having a problem with. Our boy has quite a reputation! Wow!

Thanks, it kinda sucks! I am expecting to lose. Even though I am clearly in the right. I hoped he would do the right thing and remove his claim. But he has no honor! So sad! I know PayPal generally gives the benefit of the doubt to the buyer. I tried to present the best case possible but am doubtful. I am expecting to get back a jacket all cologned up. Not very happy but if this is the worst! then I am ok with it. Win some, lose some. He has to live with himself!

I neither suggested you’re wrong nor I’m right with the weight of the jacket. I was sharing a possible interpretation. In any case, it sucks this whole thing got blown up the way it did, and I have a feeling a perfectly good Vanson jacket is caught in the middle.

I apologize I am just a little touchy about the whole situation. It is so ridiculous. And again the most ridiculous part is I was going to be a nice guy and take it back, then the slandering and false postings began with the odor and such. I wish someone could reach out to him and convince him to do the right thing remove the claim on PayPal and apologize for the false postings, all will be forgiven and just move on, but unfortunately he probably won’t. When I called Vanson leathers for exact measurements and said I was having a problem on the fedora lounge they knew who the problem was with without me saying. He seems to be a very difficult person, whose reputation precedes him. I’m guessing this is not the first claim he has filed with PayPal. Win or lose I will just move on and wish him well. Hopefully he will not try this BS again, I just know if I lose and he sends it back I am expecting it to be sprayed with a lot of cologne, and god knows what else he will do to it. Sorry to go on and on!

i don't think @Hh121 is untruthful about the weight of the jacket, 10+ lbs on a size 40 vanson jacket seemed kind of fishy from the start, which is why i asked about it when i first posted in this thread. size 40 vansons usually come in the 6-7 lbs weight range. i know this, i own a few. Greg, your remark about anyone owning the model e knowing it would weigh well over 10 lb is bullshit. this whole cologne odor thing is odd, but he had that jacket basicly sold to me with all losses covered at the time he first came up with the cologne thing, he had no reason to make this up, so i don't see why he should be lieing about that. Greg, you may be more eloquent than him, but for all i care you are just some dude who registered here to sell his shit while hh121 is an actually active and contributing member of this community and i'll give him the benefit of the doubt here. u can repeat as often as u want how you wanted to take it back, fact remains, you didn't so what do you want? a clap on the back for nearly having been a good chap? also, him not replying here anymore doesn't prove or even indicate guilt, as you suggested earlier. the case is with paypal, you may try to woo them instead of us, like why do you even care about our opinion about you, it's not like we'll see u here again. but maybe you trying to apply presure onto hh121 with this thread? well, i'm not impressed so far. there's still a chance i'm mistaken though and you are right, in which case i'll apologize, but u haven't made a strong case here, all im saying.

Hey all. It's too bad to see this deal didn't go well. Both buyer and seller seem like avid jacket fans, and I am sure they are both good guys. I am posting because I wanted to confirm that I bought two jackets from Hh121 (two separate transactions) and had a very good experience each time. I joined the Lounge earlier this year, and have had a great time adding to my small jacket collection. Thus far I have bought three A2s, two B3s and a LW Suburban, and my experiences have been uniformly positive - fair prices, condition as advertised and sellers who were all genuinely interested in making sure their jackets found a good home. Hopefully with the benefit of a little time both the buyer and seller in this case can move on and look forward to things going better the next time. Would be a shame if this experience discouraged either of them from staying active on the Lounge.

In the first post of this for sale thread, there is nothing about odor. The condition is listed as 9.9/10. But who knows why, one day later, OP catched a perfume smell. OP also posted a photo of him wearing this jacket before his smell claim. That is fishy. The jacket is short for him and he has the right to return it back. That should be done in an honest and proper way. This is not the way it should be.
