Hello fellow Loungers,

I’m reaching out to get some advice regarding the sizing of a Vanson leather jacket, specifically the C2 model. I’ve been eyeing this jacket, but I have some concerns about whether it will fit me correctly based on the measurements provided. I must admit that i am new in the leather jacket world and it is the first time i can afford them tbh.

My Measurements:

I am 1:74 cm and weigh about 74 kilograms

• Shoulder Width: 46 cm

• Chest (Half): 53.25 cm (106.5 cm total, 108 expanded)

• Arm Length: 60 cm

• Body Width: 54 cm (when considering the fit)

• Length: 58.5 cm (for overall length reference)

Jacket Measurements (Size 38):

• Shoulder Width: 46.5 cm

• Body Width: 53 cm

• Sleeve Length: 68 cm

• Length (Front): 59 cm

• Length (Back): 55.5 cm

According to the sizing chart on the website of Vanson, I’m typically in the range of size 40-42. However, the jacket I’m considering is labeled as size 38. I’ve read that vintage models can often run smaller than modern sizes, which adds to my confusion.

Given my measurements and the jacket’s specifications, do you think it would fit, or should I be cautious due to the size label? Additionally, if anyone has experience with the Vanson C2 model, I would greatly appreciate your insights on how it fits!

Thanks in advance for your help

Measurements in inches would be helpful. I just got a C2 in 38 and my build is similar, but don't feel like converting everything to inches.

Thank you for the reply!!! So in fact i am 42?

Your chest expanded is 2 cm larger than the total circumference of the jacket… you would not be able to zip the jacket even if you held your breath.

From your measurements you should have a 42 I think? Follow Vanson’s sizing advice. They know best how their jackets fit.

My chest resting is 38" and expanded is 39.5" (measured an inch under armpits). I am similar height but weigh 65 kgs. C2 in 38 will be too small for you. Are you a muscular build (working out)? Your chest seems quite wide for your height and weight. I would give 40 a shot if you want a tight fit, make sure you can return it if too small and go for a 42.

Yes, actually i am a bit bulky for my height. Thank you so much for the feedback! I’ll let you know when i get my jacket. I will definitely try the 42.

You are welcome! Post your jacket when you get it! There are a couple dedicated Vanson threads and a more general What Jacket Are You Wearing Today thread.

I'd say a 40 should be the right size for you. I'm 1,80 m and weigh 70kg and I'm between 38 and 40. Vanson sizes vary according to the patterns. My C2 is a size 40, fits very well, although a bit wide in the hips, but a size smaller would be too small considering the jacket's short length.

A bit longer reply. My chest is 103 cm (40.5) and my C2 is size 40. I’m a little bit taller and heavier than you at 182 cm and 85 kg.
In my experience the C2 fits true to size. Vanson advice is to buy your chest size and buy the next size up if you are between sizes. Vanson knows what they are doing. Vanson makes awesome jackets. I’ve got five of them and are still low key looking for more. I’ve got nothing but praise for them.
