Vanson America Jacket........

It was the 60's, I enjoyed all of it because I was young and didn't know much of anything. And that movie was a part of the 60's.
Like the 60's, The movie was good and bad. It has to be seen in that light.
The jacket? Cool but I would not wear one.
Give me Lost Worlds style of solid quality ho hum with no pizazz, or something like that!

Thanks for posting those pics AreoFan. Yours looks nicely broken in for a year. Normally Vansons look very shiny and stiff, did you hasten the break-in? Also......did you get tired of the stripes and flag or was there fitting issues?

Was at Vanson's three weeks ago in Fall River Mass. Had a nice tour of the factory, tried on a bunch of jackets ( my arms were getting tired ) and ordered an America jacket. The America is the model B without the side buckles, but with the racing stripes and flag on the back. Never in a million years would I have thought I would like this style..... but its totally cool!!

Treeman - sorry I never responded back. I actually got this one through another Seattle person and then decided after about 8 months that it just wasn't for me. It was a little "boxy" for my tastes and actually had very minimal break-in. Nice jacket and I hope your works out well!

Anyone notice the Super Bowl commercial with Peter Fonda wearing his Easy Ryder jacket ? It's a little different from Vanson's America jacket. It's much longer and the flag is bigger too. Actually Vanson's take on it looks much better imo. ( jacketjunkie mine is breaking in beautifully and I will get some pics up for you soon ).

The Original worn in the movie is just like the one in the commercial, very long. I like Vanson's take on it much better than the Original. Last word from Vanson was that they hoped to start cutting leather in late January, I'm already starting to get hyped, what, sadly, makes waiting so much harder.

I have a hybrid Vanson with America stripes on chest and sleeve, but without the USA flag on the back. I got it directly from Vanson. It started out as an AR3, their armoured Model A jacket. After customisation (which took a while longer than expected, but hey, all good now!) it's now a Model A body with Model B shoulder gussets, America stripes and the thick Vanson amor in shoulders, elbows and back. Only chest and one inside pocket, no side straps. It's a beast of a jacket, and taking its own sweet time breaking in!!! I was two-minded about it initially, but after wearing it a bit, now LOVE it. Wife loves the fit and the flashy stripes too!!!
