VANITY! (plates)

I pick ROUGE

I saw DAS DUCK on a yellow new Beetle on the way home from work tonight....The car also sported a lot of silly bumper stickers in the Fahrvegnugen vein.
How about ROUGE ? IT is French, it is red, and it is something women used in the past (some still do of course). Altho people might think it's rogue and expect a Rhett Butler-type to be driving the car.

I LOVE IT! I was considering ROUSSE which, directly translated, is a cute nickname for a redheaded female, but I love the vintage tie-in with rouge...and it's a red car to boot! :D And I sure wouldn't mind having anyone expect Clark Gable to step out of my car....I always tease my bf because he looks just like him!

Besides, all lady-pirates are rogues, eh?

Back in the late '70s I had a vanity plate on my motorcycle that read "GLRY RD," the title of a book by Robert Heinlein. In the '80s my car had "GLORY RD." Most people didn't catch the reference and instead thought it had something to do with religion.

These days it's extremely difficult to come up with a combination at isn't either already taken or not allowed. :(

Cheers,
Tom

How many letters does your state use?

Some plates just confuse the heck out of me. It was so funny, the other day I saw one that was GODUKEGO and I read it GOD-U-KEG-O lol Couldn't figure out what they wanted God to do to their Keg lol

Considering they cost extra money, I personally wouldn't do it. I once thought I would, but now I think I would rather buy a pair of shoes :D

As long as the plate is understandable, I think its kind of cute :)

I misread it as Geoduck in haste and thought, "Hmmm, another Washingtonian!"

Paul's plate is SINGLOW which, since he's a bass (as in singer, not the fish) makes sense when read as "sing low"...but one or both of us have been asked dozens of times what "sin glow" means. My stock response is "If you have to ask, you're doing it wrong..."

This thread now has me thinking I need to get something clever on my car...

I did a double take the other day when I saw one of the new Minis with the liscense plate: VULCAN. It was not a Star Trek reference. The car also had a Vietnam Veterans and a DC-3 sticker in the window.

Haversack.

I have a Mini and wanted ME MINI, but it was already taken. My plates expire in May but I just can't think of another to get. The problem with living in California is that millions of people have potentially thought of the same plate you want.
