I am seriousy concidering asking a stranger if they want to spend V-Day with me -- dinner and dancing -- and then never contact each other again. How wonderfully romantic that would be if I can convince some poor sap to be my date for the evening!

Well, gee. Monday was my ex's 50th birthday, and I completely forgot about it until my mother reminded me. (That's what mothers are for -- to remind you of stuff you'd just as soon forget.) And I had no idea Valentines' was upon us until I saw this thread. I plan to work tomorrow night as usual, pack up the outgoing film for shipment as I do every Thursday night, and when the courier from Technicolor shows up to pick it up about quarter to ten, I shall lure him into a mad passionate tryst behind the concession stand. Unless he's that schmo with the ponytail -- in that case, I'll just go home, have my gruel, and go to bed.

lol lol LizzieMaine, You are too funny!

^ Cute. I love Cyd.

My little sister bought me some OPI nail polish for Valentines day. I thought that was sweet and it's a gorgeous shade with a funny name. I think I'll ask her to give me a manicure tonight. I was going to go to a bar were they are playing one of my favorite CD's (69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields) but it's too snowy and cold.

I gave myself a manicure earlier this week with red and I did the moon bare at the base.

That's nice that your sister thought of you! :)

I'm watching the Antiques Roadshow with my mum, drinking tea and eating chocolate. And that pretty much beats any date I've been to lately...

I live for that collection of CDs. It's darn near perfect. At least we'll all have pretty nails tomorrow!

Magnetic Fields are playing in Boston tonight but tickets sold out within an hour so I was shut out. I was so disappointed!

:eek:fftopic: They are fun to see live - but I am surprised they still play much. I believe that he asked the crowd to refrain from clapping as he was suffering severe hearing loss due to the shows. This was a few years ago that I was able to catch them.

Oh this day is very depressing. My hubby sounds so sad and miserable. He didn't even open the Valentine's card I sent him. I didn't know what to send him, since he is not a big candy fan. Plus he is coming home soon and he doesn't want any gifts because he would just have to send them back anyways. Oh this is horrible :( I don't want to be alone today. I want to be happy!

Meggie I'm sorry you're feeling so down right now *lotsa hugs* When I'm down, good chocolate and a favourite movie are usually good help, or trawling the local bookstore if you feel stir crazy

As for me and my Valentine's I have Deviance and Social Control Textbooks as my dates, and for valentine's they're giving me an exam tomorrow, thoughtful I knowlol

You won't have been listening, but the BBC Radio 4 channel did a wonderfull "kissing theme". First a short play about a girl who keeps going back to a guy that just won't work out, only because their breaking up kiss is so wonderful. Next.... 70+ lady sees them doing their good bye kissing, and has never been kissed herself. So, second short play about her putting an ad in the paper for someone to kiss! No relationship, just the kiss. (She finds 'the kiss'). Then, today, a shopkeeper who wants so much to kiss a customer, and eventually plucks up the courage. Actually I missed this one today, but am hoping for an on line repeat in a minute to see if it is the young girl or the lady. Will let you know.

Mis quoting but it's nice - a woman's heart is a deep ocean (sorry, nearly put in depp.....) :D

Speaking of chocolate....

I just cooked myself up a load of trouble...

...a friend of mine will be coming over to help us eat some of it tomorrow.
