V-Neck pull over

When I wear my light weight V-Neck Pull overs I usually tuck them in to my trousers. Looks much cleaner and neater that way.

I catch considerable grief for this. I saw it done like this in an old Alfred Dunhill Catalog from the early 80's and just liked the look.

What's the general consensus here on it??

If by v-neck pullover, you mean sweater. I say don't do it. Don't tuck sweaters in. They're not meant to fit like shirts. I've never seen sweaters tucked in. You may enjoy it in that catalog shot, but as far as classic style is concerned, leave it out of your slacks. Don't worry: it won't look sloppy like a shirt tail.

I tuck my sweaters more often than not; turtle necks and polo sweaters more than V and crew necks. It's a Golden Era look that you don't see much anymore.


Probably not a look to consider if you're carrying a spare tire.;)
