Impressive difference!!

I'm always intrigued by the idea of pre-distressed finishes.... I can see the point if they're for a movie or to some degree for reneactment if you want to simulate a veteran and don't have the time to break it in for real.... IMHO, though, the best looking jackets are the ones that don't look new as such, have a bit of a patina, but have clearly been lovingly cared for over time (c/f a newly built Ford Pilot replica vs one that was new back in the day, taken out and used but not ridden too hard, waxed every Sunday....etc). The treated portions in these photos look spot on in my book!

The distressed leathers I've seen all look too evenly distressed, as if it's done by a scraper machine. Or even worse, a fakey-fakey topcoat applied with a roller to show an oh-so-regular pattern of undercoat. Even when well worn, these skins are never going to have much variation of look and feel.

If I'm going to look mass produced, I at least want to look honest about it. Seems as tho Pecard's might help, if not eliminate that fakey look.

mmmm
I still say the Pecards has worked wonders. The jacket looks so much better now. I love what it's done to the leather.
